About the Author
Dr Haider Raad Khaleel currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Science at California State University, Sonoma (Sonoma State University) where he teaches Antenna Engineering, Electromagnetics, Wireless systems, Electronic Circuits and other core electrical engineering courses. He also enjoys educating non engineering students on topics related to modern digital and wireless technologies through the general education course entitled Communication in the Digital Age offered at Sonoma State University. Haider received the PhD and MSc degrees in Systems Engineering, specializing in RF Telecommunication systems from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), and the MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New York Institute of Technology with highest honours. Dr Khaleel s current research interests include: flexible and wearable antennas; antennas for Telemedicine and Wireless Body Area Networks, Metamaterials, Artificial Magnetic Conductors (AMC), antennas for MIMO systems, and Global Positioning Systems. He has previously published several book chapters, and over 50 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in these fields He is also the recipient of UALR s Outstanding Teaching Support Award, and AAMI/TEAMS Academic Excellence Award in 2012.

Great Intro- Significantly Cheaper than the US edition

I was taking an SEC and financial markets class and had no background in the markets at all. I had a required text but it wasn't user friendly and a little over the top with the technical information. I previewed a few books and decided on this one. It was great. It explained everything in terms I could understand (I'm an MBA student) and wasn't painful to read like the other book. Plus the US edition of this books retails for somewhere around $200. I was able to purchase the international edition for about $50-- well worth it.

Book came in by expected delivery date and was in the condition that it stated it would be in. Great price too...saved me a bunch from having to buy my professor's select custom made book that was essentially just excerpts of this book slapped together with a 3x price tag. Yeah...university living is a scam but at least buying this book wasn't! The content itself is very informative and easy to understand for someone who isn't majoring in Finance.

None are better than the Supernatural

For the record, I am an absolute, unapologetic, died-in-the-wool Supernatural fan. And I mean FAN! I have all the DVD's for Seasons 1-10. I have several books about Supernatural (most of which I have bought here at Amazon.com). None are better than the Supernatural: The Official Companion books. I have each book from Season 1 to Season 7. They provide a succinct synopsis of each episode along with insights from the actors (not just the two very excellent stars, Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles) but even from many of the actors whether in continuing roles or those who appeared for a few or just one episode). There are comments from the various directors, the show's originator, Eric Kripke, the various writers. There are sidebars describing how certain episodes came into being, the difficulties encountered and resolved in filming the many episodes, and some of the mythologies encompassed in Supernatural (and the embellishments given to them by the show's writers). I have waited for Seasons 8, 9 and 10, but they have yet to appear. It may be that there will be no more of these Episode guides but I have read and re-read Seasons 1-7 many times. The books are well worth the price for rabid Supernatural fans like me who want to know everything and anything about this remarkable television series.

SUPERNATURAL - GRAVE DISCOVERIES

For fans of SUPERNATURAL, this series of Official Companion books is exactly what it claims to be: an excellent partner to the shows themselves, sharing with the reader the behind-the-scenes work that goes into the making of this addictive TV show. This fourth volume follows the same formula as the previous three: a synopsis and discussion of every episode, a generous helping of color photos featuring the cast, plenty of black and white photos spread throughout the book, essays on the various monsters that populate the season, discussions about the show's crew, and chapters on the season's main characters (featuring comments by the actors who played them.)

This book is fun to read and author Nicholas Knight does a very good job of bringing context and depth to the material included. It's worth noting that these books do not shy away from the cast, creators, or crew taking a critical view of their work as well as sometimes praising it, which helps to add dimension to the experience of discovering what makes this show tick. You will also find a complete cast listing for every episode.

One word of caution: don't read this book until you've seen the shows. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the fifth volume in the series. The journey of Sam and Dean Winchester continues to be a fascinating one to follow and this book adds additional layers to the paths they traverse. Enjoy!

SUPERNATURAL: THE SECRETS BEHIND THE SHOW

For fans of SUPERNATURAL, this quick read is a certain plus to add to your collection. There are lots of black and white photos of the cast and the assorted creeps they encountered throughout season one. There's also a great color photo section. Each episode is discussed in detail, highlighting both the production successes and failures encountered along the way. Including plenty of insightful quotes from the cast and production staff, this book provides the reader with plenty of answers for those things you might wonder about after watching the show.
My only gripe is that the font is a bit small and at times you find yourself straining to read some of the text and the "Did you know?" items that appear in shaded backgrounds. Even so, a small quibble for what is truly a keepsake and, no doubt, a one-day collector's item.
Delivery by Amazon was very speedy and the books were well packaged to avoid damage.

Good over-view for many world faiths. Only issue i have is on page 143, where it states "The stone was the sacred stone upon which Abraham nearly sacrificed his son, Ishmael."

Ishmael? Does Islam hold the belief that it was this son (and not Isaac, as the Bible reports)?

Mega-best-selling Kellerman delivers another psychological suspense tale starring shrink hero Alex Delaware. While the Delaware novels are wildly popular, this one, at least, gets by only on plot. The characters are sketchily drawn, except for Delaware's new dog, who receives far more intensive (and ridiculous) development than any human in the book. Kellerman also takes the shortcut of having his characters deliver plot details and provide background motivations in artificial dialogue that should have been left to an omniscient narrator. But Kellerman does have a strong plot going for him (once we've waded through excessive descriptions of meals and interiors). The story centers on a young woman, whom Delaware treated as a child and who returns to tell the psychologist of the deathbed confession of her aunt and adopted mother--a woman whom Alex remembers as a heroically capable mother and nurse. The recently deceased woman allegedly told her niece that she had killed someone. The crux of the mystery is whether there was a murder at all, or whether it was the medication talking, or guilt over a patient's death. Delaware and his sidekick, detective pal Milo Sturgis, follow the tangled trail to a surprising conclusion. Good story unfairly weighed down by bad dialogue and stick characterizations. Kellerman's enormous fan base, however, will overlook the novel's flaws the way we excuse our loved ones' weaknesses. Connie Fletcher

Worth Reading for fans of Alex, Milo and Company

I've read every Alex Delaware novel Jonathan Kellerman has published and enjoy them for his great Southern California characters as well as the well realized LA settings. Lately I've noticed the books kind of start to fall apart and strain plausibility toward the conclusion. OBSESSION starts to fall apart quite early in the book and as others have said it is hard to suspend disbelief that the LA Police Department would take such an interest in what a respectable dying woman "confesses" with so little detail. And again like another reviewer I find Robin totally annoying and if I was writing the series would have never let Alex take her back.

What a spectacular story!!!!! The journey of these hot greek vampires continues. When you think a story couldn’t get any better, Ella Frank proved me wrong by making this series even more interesting.

So, this time we get to know more about Isadora and Diom�d�s, her sire, how she was converted into a vampire, some of her past and the romance she had with Elias. She’s a powerful, strong, intelligent vampire, and of course she’s hot. We got to know more about her; her connection with Diom�d�s, how their bond built and despite it no longer beats, she has a heart and she can love too.

Isadora starts where Alasdair was left off. Elias had Isadora captive and he wants to kill her and all her kind because, as he said, his purpose in life is to kill them. But Elias loves Isadora...they are in love with each other and here is the problem, Isadora will have to choose between doing the right thing or to follow her heart.

I’m so excited with this book, we got the chance to know more and more and more about the characters ;) More Leonidas, Alasdair and Vasilios. There are more intense sex scenes between them that will make you be part of this hot trio. Diom�d�s is my favorite sire thus far! His love for Isadora is admirable. We got some glimpse of Thanos and Paris' encounter, so I can’t wait to know more about them and how this series will end!

Isadora can’t be read as a standalone, you have to read Alasdair book first. There is M/M, M/M/M. M/F, and F/F. Thankfully no cliffhangers! Be ready to get caught up in this story. Be ready for a lot of hotness and sweet moments. This books will leave all your emotions on the surface. ALL THE FEELS!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend it to M/M fans, paranormal fans, and romance fans… it’s an Ella Frank’s book #nuffsaid

... the Masters Among Monsters series and this is even better than the first

This is the second book in the Masters Among Monsters series and this is even better than the first! The prior book in this series ended on quite a cliffhanger and this one picks up right where the last one left off. I was honestly concerned with the fact that Alasdair, Vasilios and Leo’s story wasn’t anywhere near finished. These concerns were immediately put aside however, once I realized that even though this book is titled Isadora and may focus on her story, this is also a continuation of the entire story as a whole and all of the characters that’ve been introduced up to this point are featured here. I found this writing style to be interesting and engaging since I typically find that authors focus on one primary couple and the secondary characters may get a mention or two, but not play a pivotal point in the current story as is the case here. The uniqueness of the writing style added to my overall enjoyment of this story. Things are heating up quite nicely between the sexy as sin trio and Leo’s loyalty is questioned here in a significant way by his lovers. There’s a few twists thrown into the mix when it comes to Leo’s other than human status and explanations are provided that make things much more clear as to what exactly is going on. Leo’s going to have to make some extremely important decisions here that will affect him for the rest of his existence and when his former friends are brought into the fold his decision becomes less clear and more unsure than ever. I loved the danger and sensuality between Leo and his vampire lovers and found myself hoping for them to find a way to work through their current obstacles and be together in the end. This is one of the most powerful and intriguing trios I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about and I hope to see much more of them as this series progresses.
Isadora is the focus of this book and her history with Elias is complicated and filled with lies and betrayal. She kept the truth about herself hidden from him all this time and now that he’s aware of exactly what she is he’s unfortunately found himself faced with the task of being responsible for her destruction. The brief time they shared together many years ago has stayed with both of them and he’s finding it difficult to follow through with his assigned task. She feels the same pull toward him and while she’d love nothing more than to hurt him for his recent actions, she is helpless against the feelings she still harbors for him and is reluctant to take his life. I loved how each of them is torn over whether to follow their hearts or what is expected of them and was back and forth on which way this will ultimately go. I especially enjoyed the relationship dynamic between Elias, Isadora and her ancient and creator Diom�d�s and some of the scenes with these three are off the charts hot! I love how this author weaves such beautiful love stories within such a dark and deadly atmosphere and this beauty in darkness is compelling and leaves me wanting more! I highly recommend not only this book, but this entire series to anyone to read and I strongly suggest starting with book one in order to have a better understanding of everything going on here. I look forward to reading much more from this author in the future and to finding out what the future holds in store for Isadora, Elias and Diom�d�s.

Who Truly Are The Bad Guys?

Ella Frank continues to show her diversity and talent as a writer in Isadora, the second book in her Masters Among Monsters series. Frank does an amazing job blending the mythological with the paranormal and providing quite the lesson in Greek Mythology.

Gods and vampires...those who were said to rule the world and those who ruled the darkness. Magically inclined beings and deadly abominations...it's still unclear as to how all of the parts make a whole, but Frank is taking readers on one hell of a journey of discovery, and it's one that's sure to arouse and entice as much as perplex and mystify.

Fate…Destiny…Free Will

Those words play a huge part in Leo, Elias, and Paris’ role in the chaos – the position their creators put them in and one they’re unsure of due to extenuating circumstances and emotions out of their control. These three men are destined to destroy an entire populous of creatures but what seems to be driving them now is beyond even the reach of the gods, which has completely unbalanced the present and the future, causing decisions to be made that will either leave them in the hands of monsters or without those they have come to desire and perhaps even love.

But which force will win out is still to be determined because there’s still much to be learned and revealed. Neither Elias, Leo, nor Paris truly understand their role in the world they’ve all been thrust into; in fact, Paris is completely oblivious even though he seems to wield a power that could rival anyone.

Ella Frank holds these characters’ secrets close to the vest in order to set the stage for what’s to come. The buildup is beautifully done because all of the players have to be introduced and readers have to clearly understand the position that all of the characters find themselves in right or wrong…good or bad – but those two expressions don’t seem powerful enough because in the grand scheme of things, there’s a reason why both sides were created, and it will be up to the gods and Ella Frank to determine how it all plays out and what the cost will be for those whose choices will either seal everyone’s fate or eternally free them from a life worse than death.

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” That seems to be the path that both sides have resorted to, but it’s still not clear to me who the friends and enemies are. As much as I’ve been told to abhor vampires because they are merciless killers, the deep emotions that they have for each other and the lengths they’re willing to go to, to save one of their own speaks volumes about their kind. Their bond is more than just the blood that flows between them, which is interesting because these beings are said to have no heart and no feelings and yet, Isadora, Diomedes, Alasdair, Thanos, Vasilios, and Eton seem to be consumed with those same things they are not meant to have, which continues to beg the question – who truly are the good guys and bad guys? Which is the question I’m dying to find out!
