Relive your childhood.

When I found that this book was still available; I was astonished! My sister & I used to read it and recite the silly lines by heart when we were children. Up to today, we still remember the story; my husband has learned some of it also from hearing me talking about it so often. It was a cleverly written children's book; and I'm sure many others recall reading it when they were young. (Doctor Goat rocks!)

Beautiful and heartwarming

My grandmother had this book. When she died, I couldn't find it in her house and became so convinced that I had to have it as a memory of my childhood that I bought a copy, way back when used copies cost only $70. Not only is the artwork richly beautiful, the story itself is simple and heartwarming. I'm with the reader who says this book should go into reprint. Yes, it IS a crime that it cost so much to get your hands on it. It is one of the most beautiful children's books there is, and whoever owns the rights to it should make a point to get it to a publishing house a.s.a.p.

My Uncle illustrated Dr. Goat

My favorite of his illustrated childrens books. He illustrated it for Georgianna in N.Y.C. in '49. We have lots of the original artwork for it and I have a copy of it sitting on my desk in my office at work.
Glad to hear other people enjoyed it so much. Wish i could get it reprinted.
